Zoodiker was created by a veteran screenwriter and professor at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. His scripts have generated billions in box office.
Bob Tzudiker has been a screenwriter for over 30 years, mostly in partnership with his wife, Noni White. They met as actors when they were cast as husband and wife in a play. Noni invited Bob to an informal writing workshop in a colleague’s living room, called the Writers’ Bloc. They developed their first feature spec script there, which later sold to Hollywood Pictures. Their first feature pitch became the film Newsies starring Christian Bale. Newsies later became a Broadway hit, winning two Tony awards, and continues to be performed around the world.
Their first draft of Newsies was read by the Disney Feature Animation division. They started a long run as freelance writers for many of the Disney animated releases from The Lion King through Tarzan, with Fox’s Anastasia in between. They worked for every major studio, returning to Disney for the live action 102 Dalmatians, starring Glenn Close. Bob has written one novel, now in rewrites for a major publisher. He is a member of the writers branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and frequently judges for the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. He has a BA from St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD.
Bob and Noni are still actively writing, and Bob is also an Adjunct Professor of feature film writing for the John Wells Division of Writing for Film and Television at USC’s famed School of Cinematic Arts. His experience teaching, mentoring and writing professionally led him to conceive Zoodiker.com, which has been used in his USC classes for several years.
Now, Zoodiker is available to the public. Bob hopes that others will find low-cost training and support in that magical exchange of reading and writing, as in his USC classes and that first writing workshop.
By the way, other members of the Writers’ Bloc (which was word-of-mouth only and had no admissions procedures) have published best-selling novels, textbooks on screenwriting, written numerous films and TV shows, have won Emmys, a Pulitzer Prize and many other honors in the years since.
This leaderless workshop was a huge help with Bob and Noni’s discipline. When one commits to bring in pages, writing happens. It also taught Bob the essential value of honest and constructive feedback.
